Dropbox has recently announced shocking news for everyone; it’s officially shutting down their
password service on 28th October 2025. If you’ve been depending on Dropbox passwords to store your login credentials, payment details, or any other sensitive information, then it’s time you take action and get ready to move all of your sensitive data to another platform.
Dropbox disclosed that it will be discontinuing its password service, which includes the mobile app, browser extension, and dark web monitoring features, in three stages:
To prevent any stored data on the Dropbox password service from being lost, Dropbox recommends that users export their data before the deadline. Here’s what you can do to avoid losing any of your data:
1. Export your saved passwords from the built-in export feature on Dropbox passwords.
2. Choose an alternative password manager such as
1Password,
Bitwarden,
Dashlane, or
NordPass to secure your data.
3. Import your data to any new service where you’ll be able to access your sensitive data easily.
To facilitate users in the transition, Dropbox is offering 50% off a one-year subscription to 1Password until 28th October.
